Hunter Dunham – Professional Racing Biography

Hunter Dunham began riding motorcycles at the age of four, following in his father’s footsteps. From ages four to seven, he competed on pocket bikes throughout the Southeast, developing racecraft at an early age. By just eight years old, Hunter earned his WERA Roadrace license, racing first on a KX65 Motard before progressing to a Metrakit machine through age ten.

After stepping away from competition for several years, Hunter returned to racing in 2017 following the completion of grade school. He quickly reestablished himself as a front-running competitor, capturing three WERA Grand National Final Championships in just half a season.

In 2018, Hunter earned the opportunity to compete in the MotoAmerica Junior Cup Championship with Tuned Racing aboard a factory-backed Yamaha R3. The following year, he founded Hunter Dunham Racing (HDR) to support his own professional efforts while creating expanded value and exposure opportunities for partners.

From 2019 through 2022, HDR competed full-time in MotoAmerica, racing competitively across Junior Cup and Stock 1000 classes and earning multiple top-10 finishes. In 2022, Hunter achieved a career milestone by finishing 3rd overall in the MotoAmerica Superbike Cup Championship aboard his Yamaha Stock 1000 machine.

In 2023, Hunter transitioned away from a fully supported MotoAmerica program and joined the Army of Darkness Endurance team. The partnership proved highly successful, going undefeated and securing the WERA Heavyweight National Endurance Championship. In 2024, Hunter made two wildcard appearances in the MotoAmerica Super Hooligan class with Tampa Bay Ducati.

For the 2025 season, HDR joined forces with Giaccmoto to compete in the Super Hooligan Championship aboard a factory-supported Yamaha MT-09, while also capturing another WERA Heavyweight Endurance National Title with the Army of Darkness team.

 Off-Track Experience
Beyond competition, Hunter is a highly respected motorcycle instructor. He began coaching with American Supercamp in 2018 and became a lead instructor with Yamaha Champions Riding School in 2022. In these roles, he works with riders of all skill levels, teaching control, confidence, and safety across race track, street, and off-road environments—regardless of grip conditions.
